MAD FOR STAN AND OLLIE!

Words cannot express the love I have for Chaplin, and there are almost no words for the love I have for Keaton, closely followed by the great Harold Lloyd.  However, when it comes to finding 2 fellows to pal around with, nobody beats Stan and Ollie for me.

Why, you ask?

They laugh a lot. Laughter is good for the soul, the spirit , your health and the universe in general. So there.

They are enterprising in ingenious ways. I would love to hear all about the ways they have attempted to make a buck.

They don't hold back. Stan and Ollie are 100% in touch with their emotions.

And their inner child.

They appreciate a fine woman.

But are good husbands.

They love a good drink.

They know how to party.

They are pro-education.

But are not "know it alls."

They are "just like that" with the Toy Maker. Huzzah!!

They take care of one another when they are sick.

And, they were loyal friends to the end.

They were and are just the best!

And so say all of us! Your post put a big smile on my face and it will be there the rest of the day.

My fondness for those other fellows you mentioned runs deep, but Mr. Laurel and Mr. Hardy are the only ones framed and prominently displayed in my living room.

Excellent tribute to those excellent gents.
They got a lot of play on local tv (along with the Little Rascals) when I was a kid and I always feel a warm glow when I come across their works nowadays.

Hey, CW - I see you smile and raise you 2!

Knobgobbler - they were a staple of my childhood, too - childhood friends are the best!

WONDERFUL tribute! Loved the photos you chose, and your reasons for championing Laurel & Hardy. (I especially loved your ending one reason with "So there."! Can't argue that!)

Like Caftan Woman said, thanks for bringing this sunshine into an otherwise snowy day.

Nice tribute FlickChick for these two masters of comedy, often overlooked these days. I spent hours as a kid watching them on TV, and I could do the same now with as much enjoyment. Thanks for the memories and fun.

Stan abd Ollie have brought life-long joy into my existence. They were graceful and stately and sublime, and they can still make me bust a gut and feel better about the world. My oldest screen friends.

Hi Feder. I know you love the boys and they really are like a couple of BFFs, aren't they?

Hooray for Stan and Ollie! Every now and then one of their short films popped on an obscure TV channell here, and they never failed to make me laugh. Really, Stan and Ollie are the best medicine ever (and probably the solution for all the problems of the world).
Kisses!
Le
