May I call you Audrey? I hope so, because, unbeknownst to you, we have been friends for almost my entire life. You were my ideal as an adolescent, a young woman and beyond. You speak to the girl in my soul. You are my female Cary Grant, perfection in all you do. I'm not one to write fan letters, but I thought it was high time I sent one to you (since we've been friends so long and all that...).
How to tell you all you mean to me? I may be forced to steal some variations on some themes by Cole Porter, Jerome Kern and a few other musical and poetic types.
And so, charming Audrey,you are:
The Eiffel Tower
Stripes, Polka Dots and Plaids
A Compassionate Friend
A French Poodle
A Glass of the Finest Champagne
Civility, Grace and Good Manners
Big Sunglasses
The Little Black Dress
One Half of A Glamorous Couple
Abandon
A Pixie Haircut
A Caring Heart
A Sophisticated Fashionista
Youth
Joy
In other words, you are everything I love! I am so thankful that your beautiful, joyous and younger than springtime spirit will last forever in film. May your light shine always.
Your devoted BFF,
FlickChick♥

FlickChick, your lovely salute to the one and only Audrey Hepburn put a smile on my face and happily sentimental tears in my eyes. Your photos portrayed all the facets of Audrey so vividly. As a CHARADE fan, I was especially delighted to see your photo of Audrey and Cary Grant from CHARADE, another one of my own favorite films of all time. BRAVA, FlickChick, BRAVA!
Flick Chick,
I love you for writing this! I am a loyal, devoted fan of Audrey and since my high school days I have tried to learn all I can about her life, style, and demeanor. I was so excited to see a post about her and you worded it so well! I follow you on Facebook, and I'll be following your blog as well as a result!
Thank you, Dorian & aerojrw42. There are so many actors and actresses I love, but it's hard to put any of them before the elegant Audrey!
FlickChick - What a glorious tribute to wonderful Audrey. I so wanted to be Audrey at one time - she was such perfection. You selected great pix of her - catching so many of her "looks" - yet the photo of her hugging her young son is possibly the most beautiful of all - the look of love on her face and joy on his. Great post!
Thank you Lady Eve. It seems every gal of a certain age wanted to be Audrey Hepburn! And - what's wrong with that?
You know I love Audrey .... OK, I LOVE Audrey! Thank you for your mash note.
Classicfilmboy: You have a lot of company. We just have to share her.
Beautiful and heart-felt, sweet and fun tribute to Audrey, FlickChick. Wouldn't she be happy to see your love for her presented in such a way! It may be a mash note, but since you are a woman, we can't call you a masher writing a mash note (love that old term!) You are, however, a devoted Masherette!
A Masher-ette! Love that term, Becky. So much nicer than a stalker!
Well, I think the person has to be alive for you to be a stalker, and unfortunately our dear Audrey is gone from us. So stalker does not apply. Besides, you are too nice for that. I can see you driving past her house for quick adoring peeks, but not trying to climb walls or looking into windows! LOL!
Hmmm - mainly looking to see if there is anything left hanging in her closet......
Wonderful Audrey tribute.. I also believe in pink. :)
Thank you, Dawn. Audrey was just "one of the girls."
Great salute to Miss Hepburn and wonderful pictures of her. I love this post.
Thank you, dear. Hard not to find a great picture of Audrey.
LOVE this post. Miss Audrey is just so darned cute. Had I been an old movie watcher in my teens, no doubt she would have made it to my "why can't I look like her" list!
Audrey was the real deal. She is truly missed. I don't think there will ever be another like her.
