I found a great site that explores a lot of the 'forgotten' women in film: https://wfpp.cdrs.columbia.edu/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9143901229925085760.post-72346779971655958632014-10-19T09:46:10.204-04:002014-10-19T09:46:10.204-04:00Thank you, Lady Eve. But thank goodness she did, otherwise we would have no record of her talent.FlickChickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17351624749230610755noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9143901229925085760.post-39567513835317209472014-10-18T12:58:51.422-04:002014-10-18T12:58:51.422-04:00What a great profile of Marilyn Miller. I've been curious about her since reading that Fox casting director Ben Lyon suggested the first name "Marilyn" for the emerging Miss Monroe because he'd once been in love with Marilyn Miller. The film clips go a long way to give a sense of her great appeal.
(Did Mary Pickford like any of Jack's wives, I wonder...seems to me she didn't much care for Olive Thomas either). Wonderful research, loved learning so much more about Marilyn Miller's life.

The Lady Evehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11963115499930520653noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9143901229925085760.post-4220837463462837052014-10-18T12:05:39.655-04:002014-10-18T12:05:39.655-04:00Thank you, Jacqueline. The first time I saw them they were covered in dirt and soot, but they have since been cleaned and look pretty good.FlickChickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17351624749230610755noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9143901229925085760.post-57939973560242623822014-10-16T20:18:31.127-04:002014-10-16T20:18:31.127-04:00Great review! Glad I taped it—I'll definitely have to check it out sooner than later.

I can't believe I've NEVER noticed those statues, either! Thanks for pointing them out—I'll have to make an effort to spot them the next time I'm in the city!Vintage Cameohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12198989922609440510noreply@blogger.com
