And who wouldn't want to be Myna when we grow up? That's one of the differences about the stars then and now - they appeared as grown-ups. Today, they appear as kids who should grow up.FlickChickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17351624749230610755noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9143901229925085760.post-53175496910607539462011-09-03T23:37:25.662-04:002011-09-03T23:37:25.662-04:00I don't usually say I want to be somebody when...I don't usually say I want to be somebody when I grow up, but Loy seemed like such a great and down-to-earth person, that my response on a photo tribute of her still stands: I want to be her when I grow up. ;) You can view the tribute here: http://goldenagedames.wordpress.com/2011/06/07/my-favorite-glamor-portraits-of-myrna-loy/#comments. I hope she doesn't mind me sharing this with you. And I think you and the blogger who wrote this would like each other's blogs. :) I'd like to share this write-up of yours with her, if I may. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9143901229925085760.post-40910799545842466062011-09-02T16:29:42.309-04:002011-09-02T16:29:42.309-04:00Thanks, Becky. I love that woman! For a long time I never knew about her earlier exotic, vamp roles, and had to laugh when I see my fisrt one, where she played Karloff's daughter in the Fu Manchu movie. This was the ultimate wife and mother? Hilarious!

Your pictures of Myrna are just beautiful, and I enjoyed your bio of her very much.ClassicBeckyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03591715859057540467noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9143901229925085760.post-65732914565094656162011-09-01T15:43:00.311-04:002011-09-01T15:43:00.311-04:00Thanks for taking the time to read and I'm gla...Thanks for taking the time to read and I'm glad you enjoy it.FlickChickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17351624749230610755noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9143901229925085760.post-3090496168262537582011-09-01T15:14:40.303-04:002011-09-01T15:14:40.303-04:00I did not know anything about Myrna and was surpri...I did not know anything about Myrna and was surprised at all the information in this post. Great tour of her life and career, FlickChick. I'm sure you've read her autobio, Being and Becoming. At my house it's on the shelf next to Irene Mayer Selznick's A Private View and Mary Astor's My Story. Three great autobios by three amazing women.

I wish Myrna had appeared more often with Cary Grant, love them together in "Blandings" and I wish TCM would air "The Rains Came" more often. The Lady Evehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11963115499930520653noreply@blogger.com
